FACT THAT AT THE DEFAULT SPEED OF 450MHZ IT WAS A
FAIR SHAKE OF THE STICK IN FRONT OF AN 400MHZ
INTEL P2, AND NOT AS FAR BEHIND AS I WOULD OF
THOUGHT IN THE FPU ARENA, INFACT ONLY 16 MFLOPS.
I THINK THESE SCORES GO TO PROVE THAT THE K6-2
CHIPS CAN HOLD THERE OWN AND ARE NOT AS
UNDERPOWERED AS SOME THINK. ALSO THE PRICE ALONE
BETWEEN A 400MHZ P2 AND K6-2 450MHZ IS ENOUGH FOR
ME TO STAY WITH A K6-2, AT THE TIME OF WRITING I
CAN BUY A K6-2 500MHZ FOR $135 AUSTRALIAN AND THE
CHEAPEST I CAN GET A CELERON 500MHZ IS $240
AUSTRALIAN. YOU DECIDE WHO IS RIPPING WHO OFF.

JUST CHANGING TO
500MHZ GAVE ME A GOOD IMPROVEMENT, AND PROVES
ONCE AGAIN THAT THE OLD MYTH OF MORE MHZ FOR A K6
DOES NOTHING IS WRONG, NEARLY 100MIPS AND OVER 50
MFLOPS MORE. AND NO CHANGE TO THE VOLTAGE.

HERE WE SEE THE
BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT, WE HAVE LEFT THE 100MHZ BUS
AND JUMPED TO 112MHZ AND IT SHOWS, 156 MIPS MORE
AND 67 MFLOPS MORE THAN THE 500MHZ OC. I JUMPED
UP THE VOLTAGE BY .1V TO GET IT STABLE. THE
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 450MHZ AND 560MHZ 112FSB IS
FANTASTIC FOR THIS TYPE OF CHIP, A FULL 253 MIPS
AND 122 MFLOPS ABOVE ITS SAID RATING OF 450MHZ.

THE NEXT STEP FOR ME IS TO GET MY HANDS ON
SOME 133MHZ SDRAM SO I CAN BENCHMARK IT AT A
HIGHER BUS SPEED OF 112MHZ CAS 3. JUDGING BY
THESE SCORES IT SHOULD ABSOLUTELY HOOT AT 133MHZ
BUS OR 124MHZ. CANT WAIT!!!!
